AfriCab is a driven and innovative start-up based in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire. It was founded in January 2016 and primarily focuses on corporate accounts while offering a fleet of 60 new vehicles that are perfectly maintained to ensure passenger safety. All the drivers are professionally trained to meet the expectations of an increasingly demanding service.

AfriCab’s promise is to revolutionise the transportation for people within sub-Saharan Africa. Its mission is to provide a modern mode of transport that is both safe and comfortable for clients and drivers; these are the values that unite the members of the team. The founders are firm believers in its staff member’s personal development; therefore provide vigorous training courses that benefit the company and community.

The company is fully self-funded and is excited to provide a highly technical and professional service to its country. It wants to be responsible for its drivers and develop an African-based vision for success. AfriCab partners with Addison lee to provide an end-to-end service for its customers traveling to the United Kingdom.

The Sherlock installation team worked closely with AfriCab in Abidjan for a month to support the go-live and to guarantee a smooth start to the business, ensuring all expectations were met from both parties. Although odds were against them via slow car and mobile deliveries, the team found the installation process smooth and commendable educating. The launch was structured over a two month period where 30 vehicles and 90 drivers completed the initial launch, and then the following month another 30 vehicles and 90 drivers were added to the fleet to meet the demand and eight hours only driver shift rule.

The company uses the Sherlock Auto Allocator, both customer and driver mobile apps and web portals to create a future proof way of working and support the speedy growth. AfriCab has strong relationships with many companies in the city and surrounding suburbs, with a vision to grow rapidly. It integrates with FlightStats through Sherlock to seamlessly enable automated tracking of flight arrivals and delays to minimise waiting time for its customers and drivers.

“I wanted the latest technology to make sure to offer the best possible service in terms of booking, location and customer relations.”
M. Goma, the Chairman of AfriCab.
We are truly excited by the launch and the many opportunities that Sherlock brings us. The degree of automation of the system is fantastic and in the coming months we look forward to adding some further functionality to take advantage of the unique circumstances here in Cote d’Ivoire.
